The specific model is highly desirable, as it contains the much more powerful engine than the 300SL, the 3.0L 24-valve I6 engine, produced only between 1989-1992. This 24-valve engine is the highest revving of all the R129 motors that can go easily up to 7000RPM!

The car was bought new in 1992 for £55,000! This particular model is evidently considered a great investment by recognizing the rocketing prices of the previous models, such as the 300SL Pagodas and 300SL R107.
